If you have a tropical-themed bar, there is a little-known rule that you cannot consume drinks that you wouldn’t sip on a beach. That means lagers, ciders, and whiskey are out. You should only drink fruity tropical cocktails with paper umbrellas in them - daiquiris, coladas, spiked punch - those should be your primary categories for alcohol. You may be thinking, What will happen if I sit back and have a Guinness in my tropical bar? Well, to answer your question, you will anger the tiki gods. And this “Don’t Tiki Me Off” sign is an excellent reminder to appease them. So unless you want hot lava to rain from the sky, you better grab yourself a piña colada or a sweet umbrella drink!
